Amanda + Chris : Engaged Friday, July 31, 2009 |

Session Date: July 30, 2009

Today started out a little weird. I woke up to rain. Much needed rain. And I am going to admit to you that although I didn't personally "see" the rain fall from the sky...I saw the evidence of it in the puddles around the yard...or so I was told. And then I waited for that email. Sure enough, later in the afternoon, I received an email from Amanda asking about a rain contingency plan in case...well, in case it started raining around downtown where we were intending to shoot. I normally would shoot anyways...BUT, I knew Amanda had very specific locations that she wanted for her engagement session, so I offered to reschedule if the rain came down bad around the time of the shoot. Well, about an 1.5hr before the shoot, we decided to go ahead with the shoot. As we were driving into downtown...big drops of rain came down...and ahead of me, the skies were filled with dark clouds (not the kind that are good for photographs, if you are wondering)...and to the right of me - what looked to be past downtown were the clouds and the light that I WANTED! But location was key in this shoot...so when we finally got to Hey Cupcake, what a nice surprise to see this cute couple all decked out in their cowboy boots (as was I!)...and of course amazing clouds and light to boot!

Stalkers, meet the lovely Amanda and her sweet fiance, Chris. :) Plus...look at what was left of the storm clouds. :) Cupcakes, storm clouds and hdr...some of my favorite things all rolled up into one. :)

So a little background story about these two. According to Chris, Amanda was literally the girl next door (or rather at the end of the street) that he never knew was there until their last year of High School. According to her...."is he telling that girl next door story again?" I Love It. :)

I heart this picture. (Stalkers, you guys couldn't see me do it, but just so you know, I made a heart shape with my fingers and held it up next to the computer screen.)

We just roamed around South Congress...as we normally like to do when shooting in Austin. :)

Amanda admitted to me that she had a sweet tooth like nobody's business...and of course a trip to Big Top was in order.

Sweet. :)

Candy heaven. Seriously, Thurst couldn't even focus in this store he was so distracted by all the different goodies. We walked out of the store with about 10 bags of candies.

Our next stop...Amy's Ice Cream. I told you this girly girl had a sweet tooth!

And of course..if you're hitting all the Austin landmarks...this definitely couldn't be left out. :)

Afterwards, we headed over to the Capital for some night time shooting.

Second picture - I'm not quite sure how they got tangled up like that...but it looks like it hurt a bit?

Yum. Pretty lights everywhere. :)

Amanda and Chris, we had so much fun with you guys last night. :) Have a wonderful wedding in San Diego!! :)

Elizabeth : Bridals |

Session Date: February 22, 2009

We shot Elizabeth's bridals back in February, but couldn't blog them in case Rey ran across them. And since he has seen how unbelievable she looks...I can now share with you guys some of my favorites from the session. :) We started the session off at one of Elizabeth's friend's beautiful home, where they were prepping for an Oscar Party that night. Elizabeth, of course arrived early and came dressed in her best gown. :oP Afterwards, we headed down to the Montrose area to finish up. Enjoy! :)

Elizabeth + Rey : Married Thursday, July 30, 2009 |

Wedding Date: April 18, 2009
Photographers: Thurston* and Mariae*
Ceremony: St. Justin’s Martyr Church
Videographer: Blue Star Video
Venue:
Westlake Club
Makeup:
Macarena

Their wedding was pretty unforgettable. For one, I almost caught on fire. Well, not almost, but actually did catch a little on fire for a second...but no one knew..and I patted the flames out before anyone noticed my clumsiness. Secondly, who knew Rey could dance like that??!! Seriously, I had no idea the moves that the groom could do. It was surprisingly unexpected and highly entertaining. :)

Stalkers, meet the beautiful Elizabeth and her handsome fella' Rey. :) Its ridiculous what a gorgeous couple they make.

Elizabeth got these shoes just for me...:)

I grabbed a couple of shots of the girls at the hotel before they headed to the church.

Love this.

We stole off for a few moments to get a couple of shots in front of the stained glass.

Because it was raining outside...I started to do the wedding party portraits inside the church.

But when we got to the Westlake Club...I convinced them to brave the little bit of rain we got..for some pretty outdoor pictures. :) Pink and Green go sooo lovely together. :)

And all the boys around the Rolls.

Of course...with a Rolls Royce...I just had to do all their portraits around that beauty. :)

Loved loved loved their cake topper!

Elizabeth is a teacher...and had crayons and a little worksheet at the wedding for the kiddos there...

Details details. :)

And their first dance. :)

Needless to say...the bouquet got tossed twice. :)

And just a little sampling of the dance off that night. :)...

Plus their last dance. :)

Elizabeth and Rey, congratulations!!
