I've been teasing out a couple of Alan+Payal's wedding images on Facebook recently...but TODAY I finally sat myself down and scour through three days of wedding images so I can share their beautiful wedding with you. :) One of my favorite types of wedding are actually Hindu weddings. Yes, they can be long and may are two-three days events...but I love all the intricacies in their ceremony and tradition. And of all the Hindu weddings I've shot this year, I just realized that I haven't shared that many with you all. So, to make up for that...
Stalkers, meet Payal: The Bride. Payal's friends and families are applying a "tumeric" paste all over her, as to make her skin glow on her wedding day. (This is easily my favorite part of a Hindu prewedding ceremony.)
Stalkers, meet Alan: The Groom. While Payal is having her ceremony, Alan is also having a prayer conducted on his side of the family as well.
The Garba!
A quick photoshoot with the couple the night before their wedding. :)
So, Payal really wanted an outdoor wedding, but because of the rain...everything got moved indoor. But stalkers...seriously how gorgeous does everything look??
Payal reading a note she received from Alan the morning of the wedding.
No words.
The Baraat! Typically the groom rides on the back of a horse...but technically, since Alan is in a Mustang....
Baraat OUTSIDE - rain or shine!!!
Love this!
The wedding party!
Maybe I've been gymming a little too much lately, but I love this!!!
During their photoshoot...the rain started up again.
Per Hindu wedding tradition, the bride's cousin typically find a way to steal the groom's shoes..then "sell" it back to him after the wedding. This is the negotiation...I love Alan's expression here and how he's definitely not willing to negotiate.
The bride and groom's exit from the morning ceremony.
Getting ready AGAIN for the evening reception. :)
Hot shoes. Love these!
Alan is a huge Paul Pierce fan. A fact about him: He plans to name their firstborn Paul Pierce Patel. Awesome.
I know. Ella, ella, ella. But I love photoshoots in the rain. :)
Stalkers, I confessed...I have always wanted to shoot a wedding with striped straws with little flags on them. Seriously.
All the pretty little details...
How much do I love Payal's mom+dad reception entrance...let's just say a whole lotta.
Props to Alan for ALL his fancy new dance moves during the First Dance!!! :)
Have I told you lately how much I absolutely adore mother/son dance??...BEYOND ADORE.
Payal and her dad had the cutest choreographed father/daughter dance to My Girl. LOVE!
The toast....
...and when you know it's a pretty good toast to elicit this sort of reaction. :)
One last shot in the rain. :) Congratulations Alan+Payal! :)
