KayCee Lynn : Stripped Saturday, June 28, 2008 |

I know the title of the blog makes it very provocative, but stalkers, I invite you to read this post instead of just skimming the pictures, and you will understand what I mean when I titled this type of session "stripped."

KayCee Lynn and I have been in contact with one another for over a year. She first found out about my photography from April+Brenden's wedding last April 2007 and contacted me about doing some sort of photoshoot - either family or a private session for May 2007. As we coincided schedules, life happened and the shoot got pushed further and further into the future, until finally we decided on meeting up on June 16, 2008. Throughout the year, KayCee and I sent sporadic emails to each other discussing our different ideas for the shoot. She was in a very unique place in her life a year ago and in her own words told me that she was going through a lot of changes, heartaches, moving on and letting go and asked for a "stripped" down session. As the year went on, the intial idea of the session evolved as she was in a very different emotional place now than when we first spoke. Personally, for myself, my creative viewpoint changed as well. So when we finally did meet up at a McDonalds in Galveston on an absurdly hot and sunny Monday afternoon - well over a year after when the first email was sent, we sat and talked for an hour while waiting for the sun to go down. By the time we were ready to start the session, I had gained wonderful insight into this complex girl that dozens of emails throughout the past year could never adequately show.

Stalkers, I love the whole concept of this shoot - stripped down and completey raw. There was no other agenda to this shoot for KayCee except that she wanted to have HERSELF documented at a turning point in her life. Here is a girl who has found out the type of woman she wants to be. The type of woman she already IS. For me, I had to think differently - because this shoot was so different from others I have ever shot. I wanted to make sure the images show even just a smidgeon of her spirit, her sarcasm, enthusiasm, the thougtfulness in her speech and most of all her wonderful unique style. For this post, I am not going to go through and comment on each picture. Rather, I would like to introduce you to the lovely KayCee........

Amanda : Bridals Friday, June 27, 2008 |

So immediately after Judy+husband anniversary shoot, I met up with Amanda downtown for her bridals. She is getting married in Mexico in a few short weeks and unfortunately we aren't able to go with her but I know she is going to have such a beautiful, intimate wedding! So, I met with Amanda and her entourage downtown in hopes of taking some bridals down there, but it was just wayyyyyyyyyyy tooooo hot to be trotting around downtown and we had to do a quick venue switcharoo and ended back on Montrose where it was a little more shaded. Hopefully Kyle (her fiance) isn't a blog stalker and accidentally stumble on this. If he does......Kyle please close your eyes and "x" out. :)

I'm start with an image that doesn't give anything away - in case Kyle sees this blog. Stalkers, meet the beautiful Amanda. :)
Pink Posh - Amanda Bridal Portraits

The picture on the left is one of my favorite of hers from the session, when she was fixing her dress. And the picture on the right, her entourage (mom and company) predicted a few tears. I secretly think mom was already tearing up when she saw the veil over Amanda during the shoot.
Pink Posh - Amanda Bridal Portraits

The lovely Amanda. Yes, Kyle is lucky.
Pink Posh - Amanda Bridal Portraits

Sometimes, a simple concrete wall at the parking garage is a perfectly acceptable bridal shoot location....
Pink Posh - Amanda Bridal Portraits

...or a fancier location works well too. :) And here's Amanda with her cowboy boots on! My girl is soooo sassy here!!!
Pink Posh - Amanda Bridal Portraits

Something fun we were trying out.

And finishing up with some cowboy boots closeup........

.....and a reminder that 100 degrees heat with crazy humidity can't take away Amanda's loveliness. Plus, having your entourage fan you during the breaks helps too! :)

Amanda, I know this is probably not the last time I will see you, BUT, I have thoroughly enjoyed our sessions together and getting to know you and Kyle, as well as your family! Enjoy your beautiful wedding in Mexico. :) And I want to see pictures!

Judy + G : Anniversary Thursday, June 26, 2008 |

The morning after Crystal+Josh's wedding, I met up with Judy and her husband, whose name I have no clue on how to pronounce let alone spell........so I shall call him G. (It might be Ji, but phonetically I'm going with G.) Well Judy+G was married three years ago and contacted me to do some anniversary portraits. So because their wedding anniversary was in January, we shot in June. :oP. I met with Judy and her husband, "G" right about noontime. The worst time of day to ever ever ever shoot a session. There were 40% chance of rain, which gave me hope of some clouds - but NADA. ZILCH. Whoever gets to be a weatherman/lady and gets to assign an arbitrary percentage to the weather sucks at their job! :oP So we ended up shooting mainly in the parking garage and in any shaded areas that could be found at noontime. :)

Meet G and his lady... :) The second picture was one of the first in the parking garage.
Pink Posh - The Varghese

You know Judy and G had to be hot in their black clothes.....I do not envy them at all. :)
Pink Posh - The Varghese

Judy looks perfect here. I doubt you could even tell that it was hot and humid and everyone was crazy sweaty and sticky.
Pink Posh - The Varghese

When I was first contacted by Judy for this session, she wanted a sweet, romantic feel to the images.
Pink Posh - The Varghese

.......my definition of Sweet and Romantic. And how the heck did she coerce her husband to do a photoshoot three years after their wedding and six months after their anniversary date......??!!
Pink Posh - The Varghese

I love the quietness and softness here. I think the whole feel of their session is a bit of a departure from how I normally pose and shoot. But I do like it though. :)
Pink Posh - The Varghese

I just love their expression here.....especially G's look to Judy. :)
Pink Posh - The Varghese

And one last image..........less romantic and more fun! :)
Pink Posh - The Varghese

Judy and G, it was lovely getting to know you guys and thank you for letting me be a part of your anniversary gift to each other.

Crystal + Josh : Married Wednesday, June 25, 2008 |

Wedding Date: June 14, 2008
Photographers: Mariae* and Vince*
Ceremony: St. Vincent DePaul
Venue: Kim Son Ballroom at Jefferson

So, on the weekend of my wedding anniversary, Crystal+Josh exchanged vows at St. Vincent DePaul down in the medical center - which turns out to the be exact same church my husband and I did just three years earlier! This was actually the very first time I "shot" there and it really was fitting. :) So, one thing about Crystal is her OCD list. (I'm sorry Crystal, but your list really is OCD :)) A couple of weeks before the wedding, Crystal emailed me her family formal list (which we require couples to provide to us) - but she went wayyyyyyy above and beyond and provide pictures of the people as well as comments on the side and why she wanted pictures of these people. Her sister told me that she had a master list of all the lists she sent out to everyone. Stalkers, that's crazy organized!! It was actually really fun to go through her list and read all the comments. :) So, I know there's A LOT of stalkers waiting for some pictures of the wedding (I met several of them in person even!)........

To start off - I want you guys to meet Josh and Crystal. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Getting ready for the first look...for the wedding...for the party. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Some shoe love!
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Crystal and Josh decided to do a first look as to maximize time for family formals/wedding formals. I set up the first look in the foyer of the church. First look and first hug. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

The bride about to enter the church. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

During the ceremony, I was able to travel on both sides of the church. Vince covered the balcony angle. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Church detail.........and the sorta first kiss? :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Crystal with the gorgeous flower girls. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

The wedding party.....with at least two blog stalkers. :oP
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

So the wedding day threatened rain.......and we quickly shot some quick bride/groom formals before we got caught in any crazy Houston rainstorm!
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

The cake and the outside of the venue. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

..and the inside of the venue!
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

The wedding rings on the plastic groom doing the robot! HA HA.
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Crystal and Josh gave away ginormous cookies as party favors. No, the rings didn't come with. :oP
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Some more quick bride/groom portraits at these floor to ceiling windows at Kim Son. I couldn't decide which I liked more. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

So, at most traditional Vietnamese weddings, the bride and groom typically goes around and toast each table. But.......before they get their wedding "gifts" the guests can make the couple perform "tasks" to earn their gifts. Here, Josh is made to put some ice in his mouth...transfer it to Crystal and Crystal had to prove the transfer was successful.
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

A real moment while Crystal and Josh was waiting to do the cake cut.
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Crystal and her dad in a huge hug. This is my favorite picture from the night.
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Crystal and Josh didn't do a first dance..........rather, I asked them to dance at least one song and they decided to humor me. :) Thanks guys!
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

So, since I met several blog readings...aka stalkers at this wedding, I decided that they need some blog love! Meet blog stalker #1. She is actually the bride's cousin AND first starting stalking during Alice+Long's wedding - almost a year ago!
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Meet stalker #2, the bride's sister. I actually already knew stalker #2 even before we started Pink Posh. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

And finally, meet Stalker #3. My first known "male" stalker and on Crystal's OCD list, she listed him as a "huge fan" and was on her must-take list! Oh, by the way, the pictures of stalkers #2+3 are when they asked me if I wanted to go outside and see how they wrapped the groom's car in toilet paper...then they proceeded to graffitti wishes on it. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

......and finally Crystal being attacked by some of her closest friends. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

One last image of the bride and groom to end the post. :)
Pink Posh - Crystal and Josh

Crystal+Josh, you guys are sooo fun to work with...despite Crystal's crazy OCD list. :) Congratulations and the best to you guys. :) Stalkers....thanks for letting me hang out with you guys and making me feel semi-famous. :oP
