Jenny + Rick : Married
Wedding Date: May 25, 2008
Photographers: Mariae* and Thurston*
Ceremony: Chapel Dulcinea
Reception: Habana Calle 6
Yes, I am still blogging Memorial Day weekend weddings! What can I say? We shot a lot of weddings that weekend! Thurston and I drove straight back to Austin immediately after Rick's and Leslie's wedding so that we didn't have to wake up early to make it back to Austin in time for Jenny and Rick's wedding at the beautiful Chapel Dulcinea. Yes, I shot back-to-back weddings where both of the grooms' names were Rick - and they both wore suspenders....PLUS...both went to Fiji for their honeymoon!!! So, Jenny and Rick forgo a lot of the "traditional" wedding stuffs and went for an intimate, sentimental ceremony and reception to follow at one of their favorite restaurants in Austin. They sat at their sweetheart table for a good one minute and decided that they prefered to sit in the midst of their families and friends. There was no first dance. No bouquet and garter toss. No exit. Just great company and yummy mojitos. :)

The beautiful ceremony site. Chapel Dulcinea. Guests who couldn't make it to the ceremony was able to view the live webcam and watch the ceremony live online!!! That's seriously cool!
Jenny's gorgeous, gorgoues wedding gown! I took her wedding dress outdoors mainly because the dressing room was really small and I like to take the wedding dress outside if time/location permits. :)
While I was documenting Jenny getting ready.......Thurston caught Rick getting ready outside in the parking lot!
Must have details when planning an outdoor wedding in 100 degrees heat. One - super cute umbrellas. Two - wine in a can (extra points for it being pink).
Three - sandalwood fans. It was hot that day. These fans came in handy!
The Walk. Yes, I titled this picture because I LOVE THIS PICTURE! I know this sounds like I'm tooting my own horn..but damnit...I love everything about this picture. First the long walk from the bride's dressing room to the Chapel gave me plenty of time to shoot the procession from all different types of angles - but more importantly it gave me enough time to run frantically up the side of an opposite hill so that I could shoot down on the procession. Anyways. No more photo geek talk. I heart this picture. End story.

Thurston caught this view of Jenny's parent's walking her to the Chapel. I love her parent's expression!!!!
And the groom's expression. (Have you guys seen 27 dresses? I totally get what they say in the movie about turning around to catch the groom's expression.) Rick actually hid himself away more inside the chapel because he didn't want to see Jenny until she was coming down the actual chapel's aisle. This is Rick right before she got to the chapel - but there were already whispers of how beautiful the bride was.......
...and this is Rick when he saw Jenny for the first time. They had a very simple, quick ceremony - so I jumped straight to their first kiss!
After their first kiss they got to pull on the cords to ring the chapel bells!!!! I WANT TO RING CHAPEL BELLS!!
And their ceremony exit. :)
The wedding party. If you haven't noticed, blue and white is definitely the new pink and brown. I'm loving it!!
A bride and groom portrait......
One more....
Last one. And the rings on a stick. :)
When Jenny and Rick made it out to their car........this is what they saw. I just love that there's a little heart right between Jenny and Rick.....which means that Jenny heart Rick. :)
I made Thurston shoot this while I was driving behind them. This was shot through my crazy dirty windshield.
The reception site. The reception was pretty informal. Guests just hung out - ate some. Drank some. And before all of this happened - Rick and some of the guys spent two hours hanging up those lanterns. You know I had to give them some blog lovin'!
The most important part of the menu...............and the object of everyone's desire. :)
The flowers. And did I mention there were complimentary mojitos?
Jenny's mom and niece. :)
Oh! So one thing they did keep was the cake cut! Here's Jenny and Rick cutting the fondant cake........
Here's Rick looking baffled....as though he is searching for someone. You can see how they made an indention in the cake...yet the cake is still uncut.
So......mom comes to the rescue. :)
And here's the choir boys.......
...throwing down their "gang" signs!
HA HA. Actually, these are some of Rick's closest friends ummmm doing what they do best...pointing.
Jenny and Rick taking their walk to the Driskill. The last picture of the night. Literally. :)
Jenny and Rick, you guys are amazing. :)
